H-FREE 500 HF522BH cordless vacuum cleaner, Hoover
Hoover, the founder of the vacuum cleaner, has used its knowledge and experience to create a model that’s as good as a corded vacuum when picking up dust from carpets and hard floors.
Whilst compact in size, the H-FREE 500 HF522BH still packs plenty of punch.
With an impressive runtime of up to 40 minutes per charge in auto mode, the HF522BH weighs just 2.2 KG – considerably lighter than the Shark IZ201UK, which is nearly double the weight at 4.1kg. It’s super agile too, with 90° lateral capabilities and a 180° turning circle, thanks to the HLab Flat&Drive nozzle.
Capable of switching quickly and effortlessly between turbo and carpet modes as and when required, the HF522BH can be converted instantly into a handheld for cleaning in the car or around the home.
The ultra-lightweight vacuum is easy to handle and stands out from the crowd by having the essential tools innovatively located onboard for convenience.
The Hoover H-FREE 500 HF522BH is a well-liked, strong-performing vacuum with a string of accolades to its name. These include:
• April 2020 – Red Dot Award
• January 2020 – Trusted Reviews Recommended (4.5/5)
• November 2019 – GHI approved (scoring 97%)
• October 2019 – Tech Advisor Recommended (4.5/5)
• August 2019 – Shortlist.com ‘Best Overall’ in the ‘Best cordless vacuum cleaner’ round up
It also has the following scores from consumer ratings (correct at 24/07/20):
• Amazon – 4.2/5
• Currys PC World – 7.8/10
• Argos – 4.4/5
• AO – 4.3/5
• Very – 4.4/5
With ultra-powerful performance, the HF522BH has a brushless motor, turbo boost function and carpet mode, making it effective on all floorcoverings.
Complete with integrated upholstery and dusting tools, the H-FREE 500 can tackle sofas, stairs and skirting boards with ease.
LED ring lights on the top of the vacuum change colour according to the mode of use and light up red to alert when the battery is running low. This ensures the user doesn’t suddenly run out of power before the cleaning is finished.
Unlike some other vacuums which require a trigger to be constantly squeezed, HF522BH has a soft-touch on/off button which is both ergonomic and convenient.
A warning light on the vacuum head alerts users when there’s a brush bar blockage and each of the H-FREE 500’s parts are interchangeable, so there’s ultimate flexibility for up close and above-floor cleaning.
And once it’s not in use, the top half of the vacuum can be disconnected with the touch of a button and clipped into storage mode for putting away. The storage height of 69cm is small enough to fit in a kitchen cupboard.
By understanding the way that consumers are living in the 21st Century, Hoover developed the H-FREE 500 with wellbeing and performance in mind. There has been a surge in city living and increasingly consumers are moving into smaller homes, making the H-FREE 500 the perfect cleaning tool to meet the demand of smaller spaces.
One of the H-FREE 500’s key selling points is its ability to stand up on its own, both at full extension and in storage mode, meaning the product can be left standing if the user needs to pause for any reason.
Thanks to its removable battery, the H-FREE 500 can be charged easily and conveniently, without needing to store the vacuum next to a power socket.
Star of the small screen
Hoover has invested significantly in marketing the H-FREE 500, undertaking a range of trade and consumer campaigns across multiple communications channels.
A 30-second TV commercial, which also aired as 10 and 20-second edits, ran across a range of digital and social channels throughout April, showcasing the versatility of the HF522BH.
Following an initial burst of activity, the H-FREE 500 campaign will relaunch in September and feature across a number of channels, including Channel 4, Sky, Facebook and Instagram.
