The Beko plc Training team

In July 2013 we created the Beko plc training team. Our aim was to support retailers with a specialist team of individuals who had the knowledge and skills to support the expanding Beko plc business.

We identified and selected each team member based primarily on their enthusiasm and passion for the industry. We wanted the right people to care about delivering the best possible solutions and most importantly have the ability to create long standing relationships and trust with our retail partners.  Not many of our talent came from the industry, so they all embarked on a very intensive induction programme, that has since been supported by ongoing training to further help develop them and adapt to our changing business needs.

For example, our team recently had a two-day training course where they installed built-in products to ensure they can really understand how best to deliver built-in solutions. The built-in category is now a large part of the independent business and at Beko plc we feel it is important to ensure all of our team has an in-depth knowledge to be able to support the trade as best as possible.

Beko plc brands, including Blomberg, Leisure and Grundig, have helped grow our overall business profits. Therefore, it’s really important that our team can help add value to the independent sales and ensure retailers are aware of our growing portfolio so that they can recommend the right consumer benefits, and appliance solutions for their customers homes.

Appliances such as heat pump hybrid dryers, Split and Cook ovens and AutoDose dishwasher and connected appliances all require more explanation and training to make sure retailers are really highlighting the consumer benefits. To relay these benefits, our team is trained to relate the technologies in jargon-free language that will resonate with the end user. We don’t want consumers to be baffled by technology, but instead able to get the most out of new features and innovation.

We now have 10 dedicated, eager, passionate field trainers across both the UK and Ireland.  All showing commitment, enthusiasm, and professionalism to Beko plc.  Working both weekdays and weekends, the team now delivers online solutions, group trainings, day courses, exhibition’s and one-to-one training. Whatever it takes to ensure we continue to meet the training needs of retailers.

In 2018, the Beko plc training team visited 6,247 stores, trained 17,850 staff and delivered 85,993 category trainings for all of its brands. They also trained and supported the 14-demonstrator team that went on to win three major marketing awards, including Field Marketing Awards, The COGS Awards and the IPA award.
